My day had been horrible. I woke up late, grabbed dirty clothes by accident, didn't get time to shower, and forget all my school books. School was a mess, no one left me alone, lunch was terrible food, and to add to it all, it was pouring rain and the buses were late. By the time I get on the bus and turn on my cell phone, I have three calls from my parents wondering why I'm late. They sound angry, too. The bus drops me off a stop early, telling me they have to catch up so they're skipping my stop. I run for the house.

I slam the door closed, dripping all over everything, and stumble into my room, brushing off my family. I drop onto the bed and bury my head in a pillow, wrapping my arms around it and sighing softly.

"Hey, what's wrong?"

His voice startled me, and I nearly fell out of the bed. Looking up, he was grinning softly from my chair, slumped in it with one arm over the back.

"Today was a bad day. What are you smiling about?"

"I like to see you. Can't I smile over you?"

Shoving my face back into the pillow, I shake it softly. "No."

I knew he was frowning as I heard the old chair sigh as his weight lifted from it. "Your day was that bad, huh?" I nodded. "So bad not even I can cheer you up?" he asked, sitting next to me and rubbing my soaked shoulders.

"It was just a bad day..." I mumbled into the pillow.

He sighed quietly and pulled me up by my shoulders, hugging me softly and kissing the back of my neck above his collar lightly. "Anything I can do at all, love?"

I rolled over in his arms and hugged him back, resting my forehead on his shoulder, my face buried in his chest. "Just...be you?"

I hugged him as tight as I could, and he hugged me back, soaking himself in the process. He put his head next to mine, and whispered those three words we spoke so sparingly so they would never lose their magic. I smiled and blushed, looking up at him, opening my mouth to reply. He placed a finger on my lips, smiling into my eyes.

"I know, love." Leaning down, he offers his lips to be kissed, and I gladly take it.

Two hours later, we lay on the bed, our clothes nearly dried. Not a word had been spoken, not a sound had been made since he had silenced me and spoken. We lay, nothing between us but our clothes, and I smiled into his eyes one last time. "Thank you..." I whispered, looking bashfully down to his chest. "Thank you for being you..."
Story three in the I Love You Too series. The others are I Love You Too: [link] and Cuddling Happily: [link] both of which I suggest you read BEFORE this one. Not because it's imperative or anything, but because you'll get the full effect more. As always, this is dedicated to the one who inspired it. Here's to you, love. ^^
